Ollie & the Baked Halibut is a Pre Vis of Ollie the Otter – in 3d!
We produced a short animated movie titled Ollie & the Baked Halibut. It’s a complete movie within itself, a comedy, 4 minutes long. We made this short film to prove that we can create great, big-screen entertainment for a fraction of the cost the big studios spend. So, Ollie & the Baked Halibut will become the feature length Ollie the Otter. If you like and are entertained by Ollie & the Baked Halibut, you’ll love Ollie the Otter. We’ve also made our short film in 3D stereoscopic, a new viewing technology, which is another whole can of clams.
In our 3D rendering of Ollie & the Baked Halibut, Ollie body surfs down a wave giving you the feeling that he’s oh-so-close to you. What we’re trying to achieve is not a cool special effect, but excitement from the kids in the audience to reach out and “touch the otter.”
Ollie & the Baked Halibut is about our sea otter, Ollie, who rescues a halibut that’s being grilled on the deck of a boat by the crazy sushi chef – Sushi Sam. But, Sam is not willing to let his fish lunch swim away with this otter. It’s chaos aboard the boat as little Ollie & The Baked Halibut are outmatched and outgunned against the 300 pound, knife throwing, and screaming Sushi Sam. Can they? Will they? Whoa Nellie, it’s Ollie!
